Government is not always the answer I – Hurricane Katrina aftermath

Note from November 2007: This was originally posted on a blog of mine that was hosted on Blogger. I’ve since imported that blog over here to C Good’s Things on WordPress.

In a development that should surprise no one, large amounts of fraud were found in an audit of government contracts issued to deal with problems caused by Hurricane Katrina.

Hmmmm . . . billions of dollars being handed out, much of it in an area (southern Louisiana, especially New Orleans) that is so famous for its corruption that even people in Montana have heard about it, with tons of media & political pressure to get something done NOW!!!! . . . . and there were instances of fraud.

Shocking!

An AP article, “Audit: Katrina Contracts Wasted Millions”, by Hope Yen, dated March 16th, can be found here –> http://apnews.myway.com/article/20060316/D8GCUN3O3.html.
